I am not a troll! I am a fan πŸ’•

I know I haven't been posting regularly, this is because I want to make sure everything I post is well thought through and is from the heart (believe it or not).
Anyway I saw this video of Selena Gomez, Kill em' with Kindness (Yo! we need to talk about how Selena is now all kinds of sexy but still remains sweet and wholesome)
This was the still on YouTube, so naturally I taught it was a lyric video, so I didn't open it. However, it  wasn't (to be honest I am still feeling stupid because if I had clicked the link, this post might have been 2 weeks earlier). That's that! now let's go to the topic for today.

I 'GIFed' (I know that's not a real word but I just hope you understand) a clip from Selena's video Hands to Myself.  That's why the title reads I am not a troll, because it was all in good fun.

Then, yesterday while watching Kill em' with Kindness see what I saw y'all

And I was like she finally got it right! (Not like she was trying to though, if you get what I mean but if you don't never mind) See the both of them and be the judge.

Y'all I'm not bored I just really enjoy doing stuff like this; retaining random celebrity information- songs, music video, movies interviews for a later date. Like right now!

Danagog Interview on Career Pursuits, Struggles and Growth

I have been sitting on this interview for while now because I kinda bit more than I could chew.πŸ˜–πŸ™ˆ
However, first lemme say; this is my second interview. So, I am overjoyed πŸ’ƒthat it has finally made its way here after almost 6 months people!!!πŸ™Š
The first one I did was on Vic.O and it was a lot easier because it was a written interview. However, I wanted something more exciting and different because people don't like reading.
So I decided to do a recorded phone interview.
The plan;
1) Record the call
2) Put it on Movie maker; including his latest song and pictures
Thus, creating a motion picture with a nice beat! -It really sounded like a plan.
*What I forgot recorded calls have low quality and strange formats that are not compatible with most software; including movie maker!πŸ˜–πŸ™ˆ

People the quality and the incompatibility kept me running helter-skelter for months! That's a story for another day.
Thanks to all (not mentioning them because they know themselves) who helped improve my efforts.
People, there you have it my interview with Danagog.πŸ‘ (really proud of myself y'all)

Danagog Interview
Here's a brief intro just case! Sorry it could probably have been better I'm not really one for introductions. I like to go straight to business (Not in all cases thoughπŸ‘…(corny ass me... I'll  stop now))

Singing and Influences
My first question was about his transition from rapping to singing. If you are a Danagog fan, you’d remember his early records like Mercy Johnson and Emoti were essentially rap songs. However, Hookah which is an awesome song by the way doesn’t have that same hip hop vibe. WATCH THE VIDEO TO GET THE REASON FOR THE CHANGE (people there’s no good reason for the caps, I just did it for effect and because I can).
We also spoke about his influences which included Puff Daddy and Jay-Z which was a surprise to me because I had never seen that anywhere else (his biography on blogs and websites) it’s usually like Run DMC, King Sunny Ade and D’banj. So y’all just got the exclusive here…. Don’t worry, you don’t have to say thank you😏.
Motivation, Passion And Other Interests
Then we looked at what motivates/drives him to pursue his passion. It was a typical answer… I’m sure you can guess what it was without watching the videoπŸ˜†.Then he discussed his other interest have y’all heard of ‘Grace of God’?
Difficulty In Managing A Music Career
His response here was also typical- basically it was difficult…But what I found poignant were the details- the peculiarity of his own experience. His university degree, how he tried to juggle his studies with music. And how he continues to balance music with other interest.
Main Career Interest
Right! Here I am just going to go straight to the point Daniel really loves rapping. Like he said earlier he went into singing for commercial reasons (that's if you watched the first video). However, he seems to have caught the singing bug listen to the clip below.
   Experience And Exposure
Y’all know back in 2011 Danagog did some collaborations with Igho and Orezi. Okay...I asked him what the difference was working with the aforementioned and Davido. My question was so off…LOL I think I can laugh at myself now. First of all who talks about a question being inappropriate, that’s like setting yourself upπŸ™‰. Then the question was so ambiguous ‘what’s the difference in the energy in the studio when working with Davido compared to the aforementioned is it the same or is it different?’ (P.S I am not really quoting more like paraphrasing the real question was more ambiguous (I am really just trying to save face)…πŸ™ˆ) What was I expecting him to say David being younger is more energetic compared to Igho and Orezi (who were older at the time he worked with them).

Anyway, God bless him. He focused the question on himself and his growth from the time period of working with the aforementioned to Davido and it was really good. Give it a listen!

And That's all folks!

A Good Reason To Blog About......

Last week I went for a media literacy awareness campaign at the Public Complains Commission (PPC) for the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) as a part their ambassadors. They call us Media Ambassadors.
P.S
These people are so nice, usually I am meant to go to the NYSC secretariat for Editorial CDS meetings but I and a group of 16 other people where taken from this CDS to help the NFVCB with their awareness campaign. Back to the point point because this point is not the major pointπŸ˜†
I like working with NFVCB learn a lot about their work like for example how to censor a movie (For real for real).

Furthermore, they give us refreshments everytime. I mean it even if we don't work we still get fedπŸ™†. I can't believe they thought I'd ditch them (I was absent from meetings for a while (when I was at camp- check out 'while I was away') and I didn't take permission. I came back to meet weird staresπŸ™ˆ) Like why would I ever leave you? Like who and what ?

As it stands now y'all are doing a better job than my bed. Free food and good movies! (because many have been screened and censored). I'll sleep when I am dead!

Now back to the main point.
While we at the PPC yesterday, one of my supervisors whilst giving a speech about why parents should be cautious about what they children watch including cartoons- why? because they has been a case of a child who broke his leg because thought he could fly like superman?!

I wasn't going to say anything or rather I was trying not say anything. God help me! I was going to leave that there with no extras.
So I'll just leave a hint *in whispers* child negligence y'all. πŸ˜†

Whilst giving this speech he brought up Tom and Jerry. I was like oh no! He didn't!
That's my fav (using an abbreviation to stress exaggeration. In plain English I really love this cartoon) cartoon in the whole world. He talked about how it encourages violence and how there's a study or something of that sort that beliefs Tom and Jerry is to blame for the rise of Isis!

It's real y'all!
I was like that's a travesty I grew up on this cartoon. In my opinion after the early Disney cartoons, Hanna Barbera is the next on my list of timeless pieces. I know there's Warner Bros, Don Bluth, Dream works *to an extent*. The reason why.... Tom and Jerry is a work of art. It was ahead of it's time when it came out. Basically, both Warner Bros and Disney had similar animals in the pioneer cartoons. Rabbit/Mouse, Duck/Duck as main characters... (which where all around the same decades).
Hanna Barbera came up with this cat and mouse dynamic that was so real apart from the fact that they could stand on 2 feet...LOL

My favourite clip from Tom and Jerry. My brother calls it 'the bum bum walk'. I call it 'the bum bum walk of fear'.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
What makes me love the cartoon is the display of relatable human emotions.
Like if Tom was going through pain (Like he always was). You could relate to the immediate pained look in his eyes, his entire facial expression and most especially his paradoxal anguish sounding and laughable scream of pain. Or when he was surprised/shocked the way he'd hug himself and widen his eyes right on cue... Like the director just screamed action.

So much attention to detail.
I'll slow my roll! LOL! I really love this cartoon. I thank my supervisor though this blogpost was long overdue. He was right on time with his statement. You can expect more from where this came from!

I wish Tom and Jerry.... Had its own version of That's All Folks!

Three Throwbacks I Won't Forget...so soon

First of all I have to say this is an article I am ecstatic to write. As an avid lover of music, talented actors and musicians....to an extent personalities like the Kardashians and Katie Price, however that's a conversation another day. I usually remember the first day I saw an artist on T.V especially if they are good. I can remember running out of the kitchen the first time I heard Do It Like A Dude by Jessie J. I was like who is that? And all she had done was sing two lines (For Real For Real Y'all No Exaggeration!).

Anyway back to the point...
The first one is Eni Duro by Olamide
The first time I watched this video on T.V I was in the parlour with my elder brother (he is also a music connoisseur of sorts). I can remember him saying 'Hmm... Nigerian Lil' Wayne'. How times have changed. I can remember when Olamide said he was the hottest in game or something like that...seriously paraphrasing here. Everyone was up in arms, they were like he sells a lot of records but he is not that good a rapper. Back then he was tight sha... There is a line from this song that's stuck in my head 'Olamide is here like the first day of the year' (remember I said '...throwbacks I won't forget ....' XD).

The next one is Back When by Davido
Apart from gaining a bit of weight a lot hasn't changed with Davido. To be honest I watched Back When paying little mind to Davido I was like how/why does David have an 'O' at the end? Naeto C was featured in the video but it almost looked the other way around. Perhaps, because in a video of lets say 3 mins Naeto had about 2 mins worth of screen time. Which is somewhat normal for a debut video of a new act. To be honest Davido did stand out like I knew there was something about him but I did not know if I'd see him again. Until I saw him perform on a season of Naija Sings back in 2011. I was like  there is definitely something about this one (I mean 'this one' in a good way). Y'all I saw him perform live(to keep it simple) he is the bees knees!

Then Brymo Shawdy

Honestly writing speaking I can't remember the first time I watched this music video, but I know it was on MTV base. Though, I can vividly remember my cousin showing me the video and laughing(perhaps that's why I remember  on her phone back in 2009. I know he isn't really a big shot yet but he has come a long way. Back then he was like this RnB, Afro-Pop Lagos dude who was really blending in literally...obviously!(as I said earlier I can't remember the first time I watched this music video). Now, he is this artsy dude who left a major record label and sings introspective songs. My How Things Have Changed!

Extras....
Iyanya's Truly Love You

I'll keep it simple since it's not part of the list.... Basically, he is still super talented and can still really sing. I saw him live! I guess MTN Project Fame does wonders. Like I also met a Project Fame Alumni in Jos and he sings like an angel. Back to point (and I said I was going to keep it simple...πŸ‘€ smh). The short version of what I am trying to say is he sold out!

While I was away!

The reason for this blog post isn't to apologize for being away for so long. Almost a month y'all! because that would be gratuitous! uncalled for! I'd need more viewership and follower-ship to apologize. (you can't really count followers on blogger so how do I know if I do have followers...Hmm!πŸ˜’). P.S. This is not me begging for followers it's just me being weird!πŸ™ˆ

Right, now I finally have an intro... While I was away I was at NYSC camp. I don't usually discuss my personal life here unless it's related to entertainment (music videos, movies, series) and Empire! However, I do feel it's about time I mixed it up. Basically, what I am trying to say is I don't think this is gratuitous! uncalled for! (I'll sure you get the gist XD😸). Back to my point, while I was away at camp! Back in October when I answered the clarion call (P.S I don't think I can say that in public or rather with a straight face) I was recruited to join something a radio station called the OBS- Orientation Broadcast  Service. Their services include making NYSC camp related announcements and entertaining corp members and staffs alike. I was recruited as an OAP, that's the most I can tell you about my experience back then. The rest of it is mostly complaints
"quack quack" (Just had to put an audio to buttress my point)
which I am not really proud of πŸ’©.

So, here I was minding my business when one of our EXCO's invited me to come to camp with them (to do OBS duties and recruit new members). To be honest I really didn't care about going but because I knew they (the EXCO's) needed extra hands. I took the offer and I am glad I did. I learnt so much there with limited mobile network, internet connectivity and a considerable amount of boredom. I had to come out of my shell and it was funπŸ’ƒ.

Now the entertainment part (a music video/song) comes in D'banj's Emergency. I once wanted to blog about how much I loved this song but I did not have enough material/interest. However, camp reminded me I why I loved it "Pam Pam Robo". Please pay no mind to my wooden dance moves(I always tell myself I am better than that but I haven't found ample opportunities to prove it or at least that's what I tell myself)
Then I got to school some ladies on snapchat, my snapchat virgins! I am so proud of them and their blossoming snapchat careers XDπŸ‘…. Follow annizy48, Jazmynefrances and Moi deedeedoes on
snapchat.
.
And that's all folks! till next time!

All So Eclectic--- J-hus Friendly

Would have written this earlier but my co-workers invited me for a "garri and groundnut get together" (in quotes because that's exactly what they called it...Lol). People of God! they took it so seriously. Like everything was complete for the shindig. The garri, sugar, groundnut and cold pure water (sachet water) all in abundance! It was really good though I made a real connection with a co-worker- the organiser!
Right! What I was I doing before the garri parry. I was watching Jhus new music video 'friendly'. I had listen to Dem Boy Paigon a really good song of his so when I saw a post on Facebook about this new song/video. I was totally stoked to watch it!
This post is basically a breakdown of the emotions I felt while watching the video. Right! Firstly, I hear an ad lib that goes "Aha Aha"🎢. He had the same adlib in Dem Boy Paigon. I'm like this British guy sounds really West African kinda like Fuse ODG
-But then I'm like yeah I have known this since Dem Boy Paigon...
Then he talks about his woody.
-I'm like typical... misogyny in a rap song.
And then he says he says 'he looks ugly but he is making sexy money'.
-I'm like 'yeah that's cool' (nodding my head).
And slowly I'm feeling the vibe of the song forgetting the misogynistic lyric earlier & then the chorus hits.
He starts rapping in Jamaican Patios
-Before I can say 'yeah this is my jam'. I'm already bopping my head and smiling. Totally forgetting I'm at work with people who can't hear what I'm listening to.
"And I just wanna get friendly with her friendly with her".
This song totally has me buzzing like literally. It's like I swallowed a bee and it's shaking inside my body going zee......🐝

Jhus doesn't seem to disappoint.... Keep making that sexy money!

Where is Kat Dahlia?

"Your say you are a gangster but that don't impress me none". Has been playing in my head all weekend. Where is Kat Dahlia?
I have some really good memories of this song. Firstly, me underestimating it's complexity then trying to sing it and struggling to breathe... XD
Lastly, meeting my sister from another mister again after almost 5 years of limited communication  (I stay in Nigeria and she stays in the US. So it figures). And finding that she loves this song just as much as I do if not more. Then us singing it together on the same evening I picked her from the airport.
Awwh goodtimes!
THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

Perhaps! I really do watch too much T.V

I noticed a trend/a similarity/ a re- occurrence. I don't know what to call it...XD πŸ˜† while watching Empire. This re-occurrence/trend/similarity (but for real what's the right term?)is a testament  to the stellar acting chops of TT- Taraji P Henson and Terrence Howard. Or should it be TH2(but the P though)?πŸ˜…

I noticed that they have repeated the same line/phrase in different movies/sets. I think that means something like they have a particular acting style they stick to and it works! I don't know about you but I watch Empire mainly because of Taraji and Terence's acting. More of Taraji though and also Jussie's singing and the twist and turns of the plot.... I'll leave it at that I'm digressing too much more next time!

Back to the point; well, I was watching Empire season 2 episode 11 the hospital scene when Cookie said  'Tell Rhonda that.....' I felt I had heard it somewhere else I think 'I can do bad all by myself' where she played the character 'April'. I remember April saying sometime to that effect to someone or about someone. Like "Tell....that...". If I might add with a similar mannerism. I think I tried to look for the exact scene but that was like finding a needle in a haystack... Literally! (When I find or if I find it I'd put it up here)
I noticed the same thing with Terrence too. From these T.V shows Wayward Pines and Empire season 1 ep.1 and ep. 4 respectively. Clue: Terrence seems to like asking people their opinions about food... Take a look

Empire Is Back!

Why is Hakeem wearing shimmy...singlet...tank top while everyone is suited up? Between the look on his face and his shimmy/tank top he looks like mistakenly walked into the set. XD

I'm Gonna Let It Go

What should I let go and move on from? The 90's, I feel like it ran so fast and didn't even say bye. That kinda rhymed... XD. In non-pretentious terms I miss the nineties/early noughties. I miss shinny jackets, fishnet outfits and the music!!! People the music was awesome and I didn't even realize it till it was gone.

Meghan's new video took me back there recently. I love it. I have been playing around with the song I remixed the chorus taking out the rap part because I can and it was just nice seeing what the song would sound like without it.
And then I got Monday Motivations......
Click It You Will Like It....LOL
